What Is Paintball?Paintball combat games have been adapted from training techniques developed in the American Army, and have now been tailored into one of the most exciting participating sports in the UK. This compelling game requires strategy quick thinking, stealth and split second timing so you can take out the opposing team's players, and then capture their flag and carry it back to your base. The games are played in under huge arches with the latest rapid fire CO2 powered paintball rifles to 'take out' opposing team players.
Is It War?The common presumption of non-players is that paintball caters for the Rambos of society; those people with a paramilitary bent. Little do they know that paintball is organized, exciting and expanding sport. It is a game and nothing more. If you go to a site expecting a crash course in subversive thuggery, you'll be disappointed.
Does It Hurt? This is perhaps the most common question we get asked. And the answer is if you wear sensible clothing - a jacket, thick jumper or overalls then, NO. If you're running around and get shot from point blank range, then expect a sharp shock.
Is it Dangerous?A representative board in the US compared the injury statistics of a number of sports and found that you were more likely to become a casualty playing a round of golf than you are on a hectic day's paintball. SAFETY is the key word. On arrival you will be issued a set of industry standard goggles before you even see a paintball gun. These goggles should become your best friend. Unless in the specified 'safe zone' you should be wearing the goggles at all times. Should you ever have a problem , make sure you attract a marshal to help you out. Never take the goggles off in play, no matter the reason.
What Should I Bring?
Please bring loose comfortable clothing, you will be provided with a protective overall to cover these. Trainers or boots would be the most suitable footwear.
